Day 2 - 30 Days of Inspiration - Nature

Hello, welcome to day 2 of 30 days of Inspiration.  I'm so inspired by the natural world both as a source for my artwork and also to refresh and reinvigorate my mind and body.  I'm really blessed to live in Devon  in the beautiful south west of England.  I love the spring and summer as one of my favourite things to do is have an adventure with my children.  Its great fun to pick up the kids from school with a picnic already packed and drive to the seaside or to Dartmoor - both are only a 20 minute drive from where I live.  I love to break the routine like this  - we all get so fed up of the same old routine sometimes so its a good feeling to break the rules sometimes. I find this especially important being a single parent  - all the world feels like its on my shoulders sometimes so its good to escape the four walls.  The chores feel endless sometimes when there is no one to share them with  - leave the washing up  - its still there staring at you the next morning.  However, if I've left the chores behind and gone out on an adventure I feel more energised to tackle them. I am an outdoors person and that's where I thrive for sure (as long as the weather is good - I'm not great with chilly and damp). We take the homework with us - its far more fun with lovely surroundings.  Its great to make the most of the long, light summer evenings we have here in the UK.  I'm always taking photos when I'm out in nature and its really uplifting to look back at them on the long, dark winter nights and to inspire dreams of what adventures we will have when the springtime sunshine comes around again!  We have a little garden at our rental home but its just a boring patch of grass which is very overlooked and not a play space - my dream is to have a beautiful wild garden with a flower meadow that's private and with loads of space to explore.  That's a dream I'm working on manifesting at the moment!  I count my blessings of having a lovely home - however its human nature and perfectly ok to ask for more please!  More about gratitude and manifesting dreams in a future blog post.  The current commission I am working on I am painting a series of 20 angels for Caroline Palmy www.palmyhealing.com.  Caroline works with angels and also flowers so I have been out and about photographing lots of flowers, plants and nature to help me with my commission.  I have also been photographing people too.  Many friends have been posing as models for the angel paintings.  I attach my recent painting of Archangel Ariel who is the angel connected to animals and nature.  This morning I am taking a train to meet a friend at an Elizabethan garden to take photos for Archangel Jophiel so that will be fun. This week I am starting artwork for Archangel Gabriel.  More soon!  Enjoy you day!
