I discovered meditation at school when I was studying A Level Religious Studies. I had a brilliant teacher who took us on some great educational residentionals. For one of those we stayed at Amaravati Buddhist monastery www.amaravati.org - and we had to get up at 5am for meditation every morning. I really enjoyed the stillness and peace and it inspired me to later on to find out more about meditation. After a very challenging and stressful few years in my 30's I became unwell and was diagnosed with CFS/ME 2 years ago when I was 40). Mindfulness Meditation was recommended to me to help manage my health and the improvement on my wellbeing was wonderful. I felt very drawn to training as a meditation teacher and I undertook Thrivecraft Meditation a Teacher training with Maggie Kay www.maggiekaywisdom.com - which added another amazing and empowering dimension to my life. At the moment I continue to use meditation to manage my wellbeing. My future aspiration is to incorporate meditation into the art workshops and courses I'm planning further along!
